A CUSTOM PLAYGROUND INSPIRED BY HOUSTON'S IDENTITY

The Commons at Hermann Park features a one-of-a-kind, multi-zone playground that brings Houston’s character to life through two immersive themes — space exploration and the animal kingdom. These custom-designed play areas pay tribute to the city’s legacy as home to NASA’s iconic space program, as well as its rich biodiversity, echoed by the nearby Houston Zoo.

Thoughtfully divided by age group, the playground offers engaging experiences for children of all ages and abilities.

Older children can launch their imaginations aboard a towering, 45-foot Apollo 11-inspired rocket before venturing to a nearby space capsule installation, complete with a sculpted parachute. As they explore further, the landscape shifts into an animal-themed world, where bespoke play sculptures including a snake, bullfrog, dragonflies, a gorilla, and crocodiles invite climbing, crawling, and creative play.

With its bold themes, tailored zones, and sculptural play elements, this imaginative playground delivers hours of immersive fun, exploration, and discovery for all.
