A UNIQUE, THEMATIC PLAYGROUND
The Post Town playground is part of a modern development in the city centre of Copenhagen, which will accommodate both businesses and housing. The site was originally the headquarters of the Danish postal system and the new area pays homage to this heritage, while simultaneously renewing and rejuvenating the area.
The theme of The Post Town playground speaks for itself and invites children on a truly immersive journey through the history of our postal system - one they may not be very familiar with!
Children can climb inside huge parcels stacked high in the sky, slide down the parcel chute, roleplay as they pose as the motif on a stamp or drive the busy post van, bounce on a post box, and more! This playground is packed with interactive, sensory features that are fun for all ages and stages to discover.
The stacked parcels form a huge tower to explore!
Bounce from parcel to parcel then jump in and take the postvan for a spin.
The iconic post box is complete with a functional letter slot.
Time to slide down the parcel chute!
ICONS OF
THE PAST
In a digital-first age and with a sharp decline in the number of physical letters sent, the Danish postal system will no longer deliver letters as of 2026. This means that things like the iconic red postboxes will become a thing of the past and coming generations may not even be familiar with them.
Features like this and the traditional post van will practically become historic elements that children can experience and learn about here through play.

The vision for Postbyen is to create a vibrant suburban area for both recreation, living and business. A buzzing neighbourhood complete with an urban park with space to move, breathe and gather.
The delightfully consistent branding for Postbyen is reflected in every attentively designed detail, right down to the wayfinding signs and, naturally, the playground design!
The choice of a tailor-made playground contributes to the appeal and identity of the area. More than just swings and climbing frames, the playground is designed to integrate seamlessly into the surroundings, both on an architectural and thematic level.
The playground is an iconic landmark for the area - attracting both Postbyen residents, employees and locals to gather to explore the world of post.
DISCOVER WHAT'S INSIDE THE PARCELS
There are multiple entry points to the tower - some more easily accessible, some more challenging.
Children always find creative ways of getting in too!
Turn the hands on the clock and peek through the binoculars!
The talking tubes are great fun - chat with your friends at the bottom of the tower.
PLAY AFTER DARK
The lights installed on the inside of the playground structures make play after dark (which can be as early as 15:30 here) possible and create a stunning visual effect.
Gaps between the wooden boards are a signature feature of our playground designs and these gaps mean that light can stream in and out of the structures, creating a fun play of light.
