BESPOKE LANDMARKS INSPIRING PLAY
Gathering Place is an innovative riverfront park in Tulsa, Oklahoma designed to serve as a green space where people from all of Tulsa's diverse communities can gather together to explore, learn, and have fun. The park was built with a wide range of exciting features, including a skate park, boathouse, digital sensory garden, and reading tree, among others.
As part of the ambitious project, we were commissioned to design a playground that would prioritize architectural quality while also inspiring children to play and challenging their motor skills, regardless of any disabilities they may have.

MEET THE ICONIC RIVER GIANTS
The playground comprises two 23-foot tall herons and a huge paddlefish, which are surrounded by a forest of reeds that form a climbing and balance course.
The giant birds can be explored inside and children can climb to the top and slide down or navigate from one to the other via the steel mesh tunnel. The paddlefish is ideal for younger children, with a low entrance through the mouth that's easy to climb in through.
This bespoke playground has become an iconic part of Gathering Place.

It’s a core part of our DNA to keep both design and production local. Every MONSTRUM playground begins its journey at our headquarters just outside Copenhagen, Denmark, where our skilled architects and designers develop concepts into visualisations and technical drawings.
These are then brought to life by our team of carpenters, painters and smiths. Working closely together, our teams ensure a high level of attention to detail and quality throughout the entire process.
Your playground project is in safe, skilled hands from first idea to finished installation.
